Allow this Month of December to be a Month of Giving

Gospel of John imageTake the resource we have provided from the Pocket Testament League, The Gospel of John, and give it out to family, friends, and others through any means you can.

The Lottie Moon Christmas is a great way to give so that our foreign missionaries can share the Good News of Christ overseas. Consider a sacrificial gift to enhance and enable. The costs to keep a family overseas, on average, are about $141.00 a day.

What a great way to invest the month of December! The Christ of Christmas is coming again!

  • Abiding in Our Death in Him

God’s people have never in any age come to the mountain-peak of spiritual joy, peace, and communion which is the glory of unbroken communion with the Most High God, without having the “self-life,” brought again and again to the grave of death and dust.

Revival is realizing that anything from our old life needs to be reckoned dead. As we recognize our death in Christ, confess our self life sinfulness, and turn from our wicked ways to Him, then God will kiss us with the kisses of His mouth.

Pray that God’s people will come to realize that the termination of the old self was realized and materialized at Calvary’s mountain. Live so that the sails of your life may be set high, and the wind of God’s breath will blow once more in His church.

  • Is the coming of Jesus for His church soon?

    People of God,

If we are His friends then He desires for us to know some future events that affect us and will effectively work in us.

We will be studying the 24th chapter of Matthew for our series of the “Hope-Filled Olivet Discourse”. We will learn the future for the nation of Israel and for the church.

Is the coming of Jesus for His church soon? We will look and study God’s Word and prepare for Him. What about four of His disciples who asked Him for future events? Who were they? Why is it called the Olivet Discourse?

Would you care to know that what is taking place with so many who are not studying the Word of God nor desire to do so? What does the Word of God say about those who are not Christian at all?

Who are the Nationals taken away at the catching away of the church? Can we know when He is coming? Can we know when the second coming of Christ will take place? We have abundant truths in God’s Word. Are there signs of His coming?

What does the rebirth of Israel say to us? All of what we will be looking at will be eye-opening.

Join us and sober up! He is coming soon!

  • Eastern Shore and Ocean City, MD. Mission Trip

    Maryland Mission Pic of Group
Last year we began to pray and to seek God’s face. We sensed God’s good hand in leading us to the Eastern Shore of Virginia. With much prayer and waiting in faith, our God supplied us with eighteen team members, three Spanish translators, the funds, and the love to head north.

The teams divided to accomplish more. The two teams were involved in VBS at Red Bank Baptist Church in Marionsville, Va., and the VBS Migrant ministry in Cheriton, Va. Five days of sharing the love of Christ through song, teaching, giving, and testifying were very rewarding to all.

Two mornings we headed up to Ocean City to work with a ministry called Son`Spot and with Randy Hoffman, a Sand Artist. The team spoke with many European Students who would drop in for breakfast supplied by Gary and Cathy of the Sonspot Ministries. We spoke with them and learned of their cultures and also shared the Lord Jesus with them. Many were receptive. We also distributed several hundred gospel tracts up and down the boardwalk.

On Thursday the team shoveled and displaced sand and built a foundation for Randy Hoffman to form his new sand art. The other team prepared food for an evangelistic dinner that afternoon.

Check out the Sand Art on RandyHoffman.com. While you are looking that up, view the ministry of Sonspot.org/. It was a lot of work but each night we laid our heads down in quiet assurance that God was meeting needs in us and through us.

  • Out On The Streets

God has placed the local church in divinely appointed areas. We are located in Burlington near the interstate not far from downtown. While we are a body of believers that gather weekly we are also a church that scatters daily.

There is a scene that we do not see. It is the invisible spiritual world that is playing its game of havoc upon mankind in the physical visible world. When the church is not available in prayer then the invisible world runs amuck upon the visible world.

As the church is on the scene and praying then we know that the invisible spiritual world of God is available to us. When God’s presence is thick and real then sin is defeated and Satan is deposed. Prayer is needed to ask God for His activity.

May we pray and go in the name that is above every name. Prayer gives us wisdom, power, and purity. Prayerlessness is terrible. There is power in congregational prayer and power in the individual prayer. Let’s Pray. We can’t see the wind but we can feel it. So what we see and feel is dependent upon God’s people as we pray.

  • The Right to Lead

“O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy
    servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who delight to fear thy name;
and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the
sight of this man. For I was the king’s cupbearer” (Nehemiah 1:11).

The basis of courage is individual initiative. If we cannot act alone, we
    cannot act together.

God has given us the power to lead. Our knowledge and skill developed by God
in us has given his people the ability to lead.

But it is only under the most difficult of circumstances that character and
courage earns us the right to lead.

Nehemiah led, even under great adverse situations to rebuild the walls of
    Jerusalem.
