His Rule

“The Lord has prepared his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom ruleth over all” (Psalms 107:19).

 

We live in a world of evil. It doesn’t matter where one goes there is evil and wickedness. Sin abounds in every city, town, village, country, continent, and island.
One day the nations of the world will come to worship God. His kingdom is coming and all who love Him will see His appearing. While sin abounds grace doth more abound.
We should desire His kingdom more than our kingdom. Our lives are pretty selfish and come to a halt quickly. It is God who forgives us of our iniquities. “For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.”
Today, realize that God rules and His kingdom will not be overthrown. That means that all things and people will be brought under His sway and brought into His purpose.
The governments of the world try to eliminate health problems by giving good health coverage, and try to promise better education for our children, but it is an illusion to believe that it will happen. Yet there is One who is able to do more than we can ask or think. God and His just rule and compassion will not falter or fail.

  • The Mind of Christ

    “How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver” (Proverbs 16:16).

    Wisdom and understanding are worth more than gold and silver. God created the gold and God made the silver. We can find it in the earth and look for it in the ocean basins of the world, yet, wisdom and understanding come from above. God’s wisdom and understanding will make you rich in faith and wealthy in hope.

    We do so much that rides against us when we do not seek the Father above. God has given us His mind and that mind is the mind of Christ. Instead of running off with our own religious thoughts God will give us His thoughts if we desire them more than all.

    Dr. R.G. Lee was one of God’s prince preachers. One time Dr. Adrain Rogers asked Dr. Lee, “When God calls you on, is there some way we could put your brain in my head?” He replied, with a twinkle in his eyes, “That would be like putting a grand piano in a closet!” Better than having someone’s brain in your head is to have the mind of Christ in you by the Holy Spirit.

    Don’t go out looking for something that is right under your nose. When we become impatient with people or disappointed in life we turn too often to our own ways. Turn to the Word of God and train yourself to depend upon the Spirit of God at every turn. If the Holy Spirit is not our Guide and we depend upon our own thoughts then we are doing even religious things that are empty of the power of Christ.

    Father please teach us with the mind of Christ. We are a new creation in Christ. Your heart is to lead us and teach us. Therefore You died to live in us. Thank you for keeping us safe from our own thoughts. Your wisdom and understanding affords to us your direction and leadership. Thank you for giving us truth below the surface of our own understanding. Amen

  • Galactic Starveyors

    What a joy to study God, not just about God, but God. What a privilege to get outside of the world and come back to the center where we meet God who creates new things. What joy there is to know that God has revealed himself in the pages of his Word. We know Him, we embrace Him, and then we reveal Him as we obey Him.
    I am amazed at the Scripture. I’m amazed and stand in awe of God’s Word. It speaks. It is living, and this breathing Scripture gives breath and life. It transcends sin and death. It conquers all. God is in control and He is winning and has won.
    “Be broken, you peoples, and be shattered;
    Give ear; all you far countries;
    Strap on your armor and be shattered;
    Strap on your armor and be shattered.
    Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing;
    Speak a word, but it will not stand,
    For God is with us.”     (Isaiah 8:9, 10).

     

    There will never come one moment when we will say, “I’ve seen it all.” As you know and trust God through His Son by the power of His Spirit, you and I will not be bored.

  • The Shepherds: Changed by God

    “And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them” (Luke 2:20).

     There was only one explanation for the lives of the shepherds: God! There should be only one explanation for our lives: God!

     The Shepherds believed God. The Angels appeared to them and told them there was a Savior, Lord, the Messiah born and given unto them and for the whole world. They left the scene and searched for the babe wrapped in swaddling cloths.

    These Shepherds were men who were not counted worthy of anything appearing to them from heaven, yet God thought so. They felt unworthy by their peers and yet God said that they were of value. The religious crowd considered them unclean, unintellectual, and unattached, but God appeared unto them and touched them by angels.

    Afterwards the men left in search for the Lord Jesus, found Him lying in the manger and told everyone of what and who they had seen. They went on with God and didn’t stop telling the good news. The appearance of the Living Word changed their lives.

    After we meet the Lord Jesus we want to be like Him. We have a sincere desire for the Word. A man without an appetite for God’s Word causes us to wonder if he is saved. We will desire as the shepherds did to be like Jesus.

    There should be only one explanation for our lives. “God” is the only explanation for what we are and what we are doing. If we can explain it on any other level, we are a failure. Most Christians’ lives can be explained on a basis other than the work of God. The shepherds represent what happens when we see the face of God.

     

  • Revival

    “Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence” (Isaiah 64:1).

    Too many people are tired and worn out. They are so tired, with all of the new gadgets and technology, one would think life would be easier, but the gadgets only add to our tiredness.

    How did some of our great-grandparents do it? How did they do so much with so little and we do so little with so much? How did they bring up their children in the things of God and we just watch our children grow up?

    Is it because we are trusting in our own lives rather than the One who gives it? I pray that all of us would examine our prayer lives. How are we doing? Are we truly praying? When you and I climb to the Summit it is costly business. The bitter cold, raging winds, rarified atmosphere, the blinding blizzards, engulfing avalanches of snow and rock will try to beat us down from the climb. But it is worth it!

    God said that He would look down and come down if we invite Him. The things that wear us out are the things that are keeping us from Him and Him from us. Life on the highest plane is found as we pray, for it is the Upward Way as we press onward and upward. “Comfyness” is a sign of desertion from God.

    Someone has said that “the kingdom of God will be brought in by Christians who, when last seen, were heading toward the summit.” How true! Yes, and how thrilling! Have we allowed “iniquities to separate between us and our God?” True obedience is staying in the upward direction in prayer. It is the sign of a soul that is climbing the Summit with God.

  • Why Pray?

    “Watch ye, therefore, and pray always, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man” (Luke 21:36).

     

    1.  There is a devil.
    2. Prayer is what God has given to obtain what we need from Him.
    3. Prayer was the most important thing to the early apostles.
    4. Our Lord prayed.

     

    5. Our Lord is even now interceding for us.
    6. Prayer moves God to obtain grace and receive mercy from Him.

     

    7. Prayer gives to us God’s fullness of His joy.

     

    8. Prayer along with thanksgiving frees us from anxiety.

     

    9. Prayer is the means in which we keep watchful.

     

    10. Prayer promotes our spiritual growth, brings power into the work, leads   others to Christ and gives power and blessings to the church.
    We cannot afford not to pray. Prayer should be the most vital part of a believer’s life. Prayer is how we talk to God and how the Word speaks to us. Prayer draws us nigh to God.
    Prayer is not the last thing we should do — it’s the best thing. It’s the only thing that matters until we pray.

     

  • To Boast of Your Gifts Is A Sin

    “Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you” (James 4:10).

    Satan can use spiritual things to make you proud: It could be your ability to teach or preach the Word; your prayer life; your success in witnessing; soul-winning; your talents and good works.

    A famous Christian businessman was visiting a church and was asked to give a word of greeting. He got carried away telling all that God had done for him. “I have a successful business, a large house, a lovely family, a famous name, enough money to do the things I want to do and able to give to Christian works. I have health and opportunities unnumbered. There are many people who would gladly exchange places with me. What more could God give me?” From the back of the auditorium a voice called, “A good dose of humility!”

    To boast is a sin, because God gave the gift and we cannot take credit for what God has given. Satan attacks with pride and we need to surrender immediately to the Holy Spirit and let Him in to work that He may produce humility and submission before God.

    A sign that one is not submissive to God or to one another is to willingly judge or quickly respond in a manner unbecoming of Christ. When one is continually confrontational with those of like mindedness then we can be sure we have locked God out. Sins of the flesh are bad but sins of the spirit are worse and cause more damage.
